Takeoff Software for Builders and Trades

Takeoff software for builders and trades, on the job itself: drop in the PDF plans, check the scale, and measure lengths, wall areas, areas and counts on screen. Each item is priced from your price book, and one button turns the takeoff into a quote.

Takeoffs

Measure where the job lives.

01

A scale you can trust

CREW25 reads each sheet’s scale from its label. If labels disagree or none is found, the sheet says Check scale, because a wrong scale would misprice the whole job.

02

Priced as you measure

Each item is priced from a price book item or a bundle, so a metre of stud wall carries its studs, plates, fixings and labour.

03

One job, several takeoffs

Keep the main scope, a variation and an option as separate takeoffs, each sending to its own quote.

Today

What works today.

Everything in this list is in the product now.

  • PDF, JPG, PNG and TIFF plans, one sheet per page
  • Scale read from each sheet’s label, or set from a known dimension
  • Lengths, wall areas from a height, areas less openings, volumes from a depth, and counts
  • A waste percentage on any item
  • Items on trade layers, shown and hidden together
  • Priced from price book items or bundles, such as a stud wall per metre
  • Several takeoffs per job, such as the main scope, a variation and an option
  • Send to quote: a draft quote for the job’s customer, linked to the job

Still to come

  • AI takeoff: reading plans and suggesting what to measure
  • Roof pitch, and snapping to the lines in the PDF
  • Sheet revisions, and copying a takeoff to a similar job
  • An order list from the takeoff to purchase orders
  • Plans and markups in the mobile apps
  • CAD files
How it works

How does takeoff work in CREW25?

  1. Add the plans

Open the job’s Takeoffs tab and drop in the plans. Each page becomes a sheet with its own scale.

  2. Measure

Choose an item and draw on the sheet. Lengths and areas show live as you draw.

  3. Send to quote

The takeoff becomes a draft quote, priced from your price book, ready to check and send.

Questions

Takeoff Software for Builders and Trades: questions and answers.

Last updated October 2026

What plans can I measure in CREW25?
PDF plans, and JPG, PNG or TIFF images, which become PDFs. Each file can be up to 25 MB. CAD files are not supported yet.
How does CREW25 set the scale?
It reads each sheet’s scale label. If labels disagree or none is found, the sheet is marked Check scale, and you set it by clicking both ends of a known dimension and entering its length.
Does CREW25 do AI takeoff?
Not yet. Measuring is by hand today. AI that reads plans and suggests what to measure, for you to check, is planned.
Can I import a takeoff from Houzz Pro or Excel?
Yes. The quote editor imports an Excel or CSV takeoff export, such as one from Houzz Pro, and turns each row into a quote line.
Who can use takeoffs?
The office. Takeoffs live on the job’s Takeoffs tab in the office app. Viewing plans in the mobile apps is planned.
